Course Overview

This course enables participants to gain awareness of the psychosocial challenges faced by a client with stroke. By understanding these challenges, participants will be able to deliver better care and support to the client.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, the learner is able to:

  • Understand the social impact of stroke on client
  • Understand the emotional & psychological impact of stroke to client
  • Understand the importance of Empowering Clients with Stroke

Who should attend

  • This course is suitable for Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Allied Health Professional, Doctor, Senior Management, Corporate Services Staff, Support Care Staff.

Mr Dan Ng
Senior Counsellor, St Luke’s ElderCare

Dan has been providing counselling support in addressing Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) and develops intervention for the elders and support for their family members. Being trained as an ACP/PPC facilitator, he conducts ACP talk and PPC facilitation for the elders and their family members. Prior to his existing work, Dan had worked in AIC Home Palliative Service in providing holistic intervention for end-stage organ failure patients.

The full course is $130.80 (including prevailing GST). Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents and 45% for work pass holders working in eligible community care organisations.
