Course Overview
This 2-day course aims to equip medical professionals (nurses, doctors or nursing aides) with knowledge and skills to assess and prevent Moisture Associated Skin Damage. Nurses will be equipped with skills to perform crusting techniques and use of categorization tools to ensure appropriate measures are implemented. Nurses will also be able to perform patient education to Caregiver and Patients on Moisture Associated Skin Damage. Oral and Practical Assessment will be conducted another day to ensure skills learn can be apply in their workplace.
Course Objectives
At the end of the training, the learner will be able to:
- Understand the pathophysiology of Arterial Leg Ulcers.
- Identify underlying causes and risk factors of Arterial Leg Ulcers .
- Recognize the clinical presentations, signs and symptoms of Arterial Leg Ulcers
- Recognize the clinical presentations, sign and symptoms of Arterial Leg Ulcers
- Identify the diagnostic tools and test
- Perform ABPI and Foot Assessment
- Devise plan for Arterial Leg Ulcer management
