Course Overview

This 2-day course aims to equip medical professionals with knowledge and skills to assess and manage Diabetic Foot Ulcers. Nurses will be equipped with skills to perform diabetic foot screening, and wound Assessment to ensure appropriate measures are implemented. Nurses will also be able to perform patient education to Caregiver and Patients on Diabetic Foot Ulcer Management. Oral and Practical Assessment will be conducted another day to ensure skills learn can be apply in their workplace.

Course Objectives

At the end of the training, the learner will be able to:

  1. Understand the pathophysiology of Diabetic Foot Ulcers.
  2. Identify the risk factors of Diabetic Foot Ulcers
  3. Differentiate types of diabetic foot ulcer
  4. Identify different type of foot deformities.
  5. Perform 3mins diabetic foot examination and screening.
  6. Devise plan for Diabetic Foot Ulcer management
  7. Perform Patient/Caregiver Education
